This year for International Women’s Day, we are thrilled to be supporting our partner, Extract Coffee Roasters, as they champion their newest coffee, Betty.

Extract Coffee Roasters are working to showcase speciality coffee grown by women and routinely work with partners who support women throughout the coffee supply chain.

Betty is produced by female growers in Guatemala, whose passion and dedication is showcased in this espresso.

Some of the women involved in Betty are Celeste Fumagalli, from her farm in Jutiapa, Karin Hernandez from Ciudad Vieja, and Jovita Castillo, manager of Joya Grande in Santa Rosa. All of these people champion women in coffee in their own way, helping other female producers in their region by sharing knowledge, resources and skills, or hiring female staff.

Extract Coffee Roasters have longstanding relationships with female growers, such as Delmy Regalado, from Liquidambar in Honduras, one of the coffees in our Organic Espresso. Some of our most recent female-grown coffees include Inner Strength from the Virunga National Park, Buf Naturals from Rwanda, Carmen Coca from Colombia and Chelchelie from Ethiopia.
